Get to know us

At The Hope Centre Perth, everything begins with one powerful belief: once you choose hope, anything is possible. This quote, inspired by Christopher Reeve, deeply resonates with us. We see hope not as a passive feeling, but as an active choice, one that can shift even the heaviest moments. Because when HOPE is lost, it can feel incredibly difficult to find your way back. Our work is about helping people reconnect with that possibility.

Our logo tells this story.

The butterflies emerging from a box represent renewal, transformation, and growth. They symbolise what can happen when people are given a safe space to release their pain, adversity, and emotional burden. The box reflects what has been held in, and the act of opening it represents courage, vulnerability, and healing.

The hand holding the box is intentionally diverse, reflecting inclusivity, safety, and the message that everyone is welcome here. No matter your story, you belong.

This centre was also shaped by what matters most to us, family. Our children played a meaningful role in the creation of our name and logo, with our son contributing to the design itself. That foundation is reflected in how we work.

We are a strong, connected family, and we extend that same sense of care, safety, and belonging to every client who walks through our doors. At The Hope Centre Perth, you are not just supported, you are part of something.

About

My name is Kate Watson

Psychotherapist/Counsellor

After completing my diploma in counselling from the Australian College of Applied (ACAP), I followed my passion and earned a degree in psychological science from the same institution. I further developed my counselling skills by obtaining a graduate diploma of counselling Murdoch University and became a member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).

As a psychotherapist, I deeply understand how heavy life can feel when you’re holding everything together on the outside while struggling on the inside. I work with individuals who are tired of repeating the same in their relationships, parenting, and within themselves—patterns that don’t just disappear with advice or positive thinking.

As a trauma-informed and schema-informed therapist, I employ various integrated methods, including CBT, DBT, ACT, and art therapy. In our work together, we don’t just talk about what’s happening; we unpack it, challenge it, and change it. I’ll help you understand your triggers, emotional responses, and the deeper beliefs driving them, so you can start responding differently and feel more in control.

Clients often describe my approach as honest, grounded, a bit different. I bring warmth alongside clarity because real change comes from both.

My focus includes helping teens navigate challenges like bullying, self-harming behaviours, anxiety, and school avoidance, supporting older adults with long-standing issues, assisting adults with everyday challenges, and guiding couples through relationship conflicts.

About

My Name is Ben Watson

Master NLP Practitioner & Hypnotherapist

I help people and workplaces break out of survival patterns and move into clarity, safety, and intentional growth. My work brings together behavioural change through Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), Hypnotherapy, coaching, and organisational systems advocacy to support both the individual and the environment they operate in,  because real change is always both personal and collective.

I take a human‑centred approach grounded in compassion, agency, and the belief that people thrive when they feel safe, seen, and supported. In individual work, that means helping clients understand their patterns, release what no longer serves them, and reconnect with a sense of self‑worth and direction. In organisational settings, it means addressing the systems that shape behaviour, culture, workload, governance, fairness, and psychological safety, so people aren’t forced to compensate for environments that work against them.

Across both spaces, the intention is the same - to create conditions where people can think clearly, act with integrity, and grow without fear. I support individuals, teams, and organisations who want to move beyond reactivity and into a more grounded, values‑aligned way of living and working
